Usage notes
- Close locks and test each lock for secure hold before placing a patient under restraint; manufacturer instructions require testing and inspection before use.
- Pull the crotch strap between legs and close with a lock so it fits snugly but does not leave pressure marks; an open hand should fit between waist belt and patient to avoid restricting breathing.
- The bed attachment straps must be installed tightly and routed so they cannot slide along the bed frame; side rails must be locked up during use as directed by the manufacturer.
Limitations and safety (important)
- The SEGUFIX® Standard with Crotch Strap must never be used without the side-positioning straps; otherwise the patient could “helicopter” or turn over the bed edge, possibly causing chest compression or death. See manufacturer safety information.
- Each lock type is compatible only with its own keys and components; magnetic locks must not be submerged or laundered and are limited to a specific number of belt layers. Follow the manufacturer lock compatibility and care instructions.
