- B. Braun Sterile Water for Injection USP, 250 mL in the EXCEL® IV container (REF L8502). Intended for healthcare use as a diluent or solvent for parenteral drugs and for pharmacy/clinical medication preparation. It is a single‑dose, preservative‑free sterile water product and is labeled Rx only.

Condition and packaging

Usage notes
- - For intravenous use only after first being made approximately isotonic by addition of suitable solute; do not inject directly as hypotonic solution may be hemolytic.
- - Do not use in series connection; follow directions on the EXCEL® container instructions for opening and attaching an administration set.
- - When adding medication, use aseptic technique, mix thoroughly and do not store mixtures (follow package insert directions).
- - Recommended storage: room temperature; avoid excessive heat and protect from freezing.
Limitations and safety
- - Rx only; this product is not a ready‑to‑use isotonic fluid and must be used as a diluent or for pharmacy preparation per institutional protocols.
- - Some additives may be incompatible — consult a pharmacist before introducing additives.
- - Do not use if the bag or seals are damaged or if the solution is cloudy or contains particulate matter.
Warnings
- - Hypotonic and potentially hemolytic if injected intravenously without first adjusting to approximate isotonicity. Not suitable for direct IV injection as supplied.
- - If evidence of leakage or compromised overwrap is present, discard; sterility may be impaired.
