Product Description
Features:
You’re probably more familiar with horsetail than you think. Equisetum is the genus of reedy plants that line the edges of marshes, swamps and ditches, and are quite common everywhere, particularly in northern North America. This common reed looks a bit like a green bottle brush with brown stripes, and it bends and sways in the wind. This flexibility comes from the mineral silica, and is found in high quantities in horsetail.
Silica is an important trace element in the body, and is important for growth, strength, and management of many connective tissues. Keeping our youthful glow is all about the health and nutrition of these connective tissues. These include cartilage, ligaments, tendons, bones, teeth, nails, hair and skin. These tissues all require a different level of flexibility, strength, firmness and stability, but allow you to move gracefully without injury.
Elastin and collagen are proteins that can give those connective tissues their healthy integrity. Collagen is the most plentiful form of protein in your body, and acts like the “glue” that holds it together. Silica is required for the production of both collagen and elastin. With age, silica levels and collagen formation both decline naturally, leading to a loss of elasticity, strength, and tone throughout the body. Providing silica via horsetail provides the raw materials for a slow and steady bumping up of your body’s natural collagen production.
No more brittle or grooved nails, thinning or dull hair, and thin and saggy skin. With a little help from this marshy plant, you can support your body’s natural ability to tighten and brighten!
